The Joy in My Heart Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit governed under the laws of the state of California. We operate solely on donations, fundraisers and volunteer help. Through public donations we are able to help save the lives of animals who have been surrendered due to owners who are no longer able to care for their canine/feline animals due to unexpected illness or terminal disease. We will also work with families who need to find a home for an animal based on the passing of a family member.
Who we are….
“The Joy In My Heart Foundation” is an animal rescue non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives. This organization was inspired in loving memory of my beloved mother who was an animal advocate and my best friend, Joy Hanson.
We are an all breed foster based rescue specializing in animals who have been surrendered by families who can no longer care for their pet based on terminal illness or the death of their beloved human.
We are committed to working with shelters, hospice and elderly facilities to help save the lives of your four legged family members when there is no one left to care. We are dedicated to finding homes through compassionate fosters and adopters who will provide a loving home.
It is also our desire to help terminally ill and seniors remain in contact with their beloved pet through volunteers who will bring the animal to visit their owner in the elderly facility or hospice.
While The Joy In My Heart Foundation’s mission is to rescue and rehome the pets of owners who can no longer care for them due to terminal illness or death, we will not hesitate to help other animals in need when possible.
